It is not enough to sign a lease stating when you will move out. If you do not formally, in writing, restate your intention to vacate 2 months in advance - you are charged as if you were staying. The additional rent for days we were not living there - after we moved out is higher than the original and additional surcharge was added for the imposed short term extension. Their practices to extract more $$ are unjust and demoralizing. The local management hides behind "the corporate office", which they state tells them what they have to do .
